Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

AION is an AI-powered customer engagement platform that helps businesses manage Instagram conversations, automate responses, and publish content from a single unified inbox. AION integrates with Instagram through Meta's official Graph API and complies with Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services.

Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and workspace name to create and manage your AION account.

Instagram and Facebook Account Data. When you connect your Instagram account via Facebook Login, we collect your Instagram Business or Creator Account ID, your username and display name, your profile image URL, and the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account. This data is used only to establish the connection and display your identity within the platform.

Messages and Comments. AION receives your Instagram messages and comments via Meta's Webhooks. We store message and comment content, sender IDs, timestamps, and message status. This data powers your conversation inbox and enables you to respond to customers.

Media Uploads. If you use the content publishing feature, we temporarily store images, videos, and captions you upload. Files are sent to Instagram via Meta's Content Publishing API and deleted from our servers after successful publishing or when your account is disconnected.

Usage and Technical Logs. We automatically collect IP addresses, device type, browser information, and feature usage logs to operate the platform, maintain security, and fix issues. This data is never used for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly to operate and improve AION:

  • Display your Instagram conversations in the unified inbox
  • Enable you to reply to messages and comments
  • Power AI-generated response suggestions, only when you enable automation
  • Publish images and videos to your Instagram account
  • Provide analytics and performance insights
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles based on your activity or your customers' data.

4. AI Automation and Data Processing

AION includes an optional AI response automation feature. This feature is off by default and must be explicitly enabled by you.

When AI automation is enabled, message content is sent to our AI provider via encrypted API calls to generate suggested or automated replies. Our AI provider processes this content only to generate responses and does not retain it for training or any other purpose. When AI automation is disabled, no message content is sent to any AI provider.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data for marketing or advertising. We share information only in the following limited circumstances.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram). To connect and interact with your Instagram account, AION communicates with Meta's APIs to send messages on your behalf, receive webhooks, and publish content. This is necessary for core functionality and is governed by Meta's Platform Terms.

Cloud Infrastructure Providers. We use third-party cloud services for hosting, databases, and storage. These providers store data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it. They do not have independent rights to access your data.

AI Provider (When Automation Is Enabled). Only when you have enabled AI automation, message content is sent to our AI provider for response generation. This provider acts as a data processor under our instructions.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of AION, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

  • Account data is retained until you close your account
  • Instagram message and conversation data is retained while your account is connected
  • When you disconnect Instagram, associated data is deleted within 7 days
  • When you request account deletion, all data is deleted within 7 days
  • Usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes

7. Your Rights and Controls

Connect and Disconnect Instagram. You can connect your Instagram account at any time via Facebook Login and disconnect it at any time from your AION settings. Disconnecting triggers deletion of your Instagram data within 7 days.

Revoke Facebook Login Permissions. You can revoke AION's access directly from Facebook Settings under Apps and Websites. Revoking access disables AION's ability to read or send messages on your behalf.

Request Data Deletion. Email us at privacy@aion.app to request deletion of all your AION data. We will complete the deletion within 7 days and confirm by email.

Access Your Data. You may request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing privacy@aion.app.

8. Data Security

We protect your data using encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure OAuth 2.0 authentication via Facebook Login, access controls limiting which team members can access customer data, and regular security reviews. No system is completely immune to risk. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at privacy@aion.app.

9. Children's Privacy

AION is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date above. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notification. Continued use of AION after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
